My 2014 Book Blogger Resolution!

First off, Happy 2014! Hope you have a fabulous New Years! I decided that I’m going to participate in Parajunkee’s Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge. Today’s topic is “Your Blogger Resolutions”.

Well my resolution is quite simple. It’s TO NOT GIVE UP! Because I've thought about quiting and that's just no good. I’ve had a really sucky blogging year, so much so that I didn’t even celebrate my 2 year blogoversary!!! And now that it’s coming up on my 3 year blogoversary (in just 3 months!), I know that I’ve really got to get back into the passion that I used to have for Book Blogging.

So, I’m going to take this opportunity to tell my followers “THANK YOU” for not giving up on me. I’ve had a lot going on in my life, and only the people I’m most close to really know what’s going on. These personal issues are not over, but I’m not going to give up on blogging! That’s my resolution, TO NOT GIVE UP! Book blogging is something that I’ve loved for too long and that I’ve put too many hours of my life into to just give up. I hope that I’ll be around for a really long time!

How am I going to do that? I need to get back out there! First off, I’ve completely secluded myself to bloggers that I know because I think that I’ve become a little too guarded in trusting bloggers because of some of the drama out there, but I think it’s time for me to open up again. I need to get out and check out all the (I’m sure many, many) new blogs; I need to start regularly visiting the blogs I love again; I need to start fun chats about books on twitter again; and, finally, I need to write more book reviews!!! I really hope that I’ll do it! Wish me luck!!!

I’ll see you tomorrow for the topic of “Your Pros & Cons of Blogging List”!

Happy New Year, my dear!! :D That is a great resolution and one that I hope you keep as the blogging world would definitely miss you! I hope that whatever you've got going on works itself out for the best---keep your chin up, girl! Good advice for both of us! ;) Hopefully I'll see you soon!

That's a really great resolution. Don't give up. It's the worst feeling in the world. I did give up (I started book blogging back in 2009) for awhile and now I'm jumping back in. So my resolutions have more to do with re-establishing myself. Have a great day!

Glad you're not giving up. I really like your blog. And sometimes with our personal lives and work, we need to cut back on the blogging. And that's okay too. Looking forward to what you have planned this year.

Lovely resolution. Your blog is one of my favs, and I've missed your posts, but sometimes you gotta do whatcha gotta do! But I just finished watching Silver Linings (Christmas present!) on DVD and I can't help but think of its message when reading your post: Each painful experience is lined with the miracle of lessons learned and wisdom gained. God never takes something from us without giving us something else in return :-) Blessings to you in 2014!!!!

Yes about getting back to basics, these were my resolutions too. And everyone of us has been in this blogging slump before and if you love blogging enough I promise you will get out of it without having to force it. It just comes back :))
Happy New Year!

Great resolution. I always get sad when I see a goodbye post, even if it's from a blog that I've never been to before. Quitting just seems so sad. I just posted about all these dumb insecurities I have about blogging, but no way would I quit. I just want to motivate myself to do better :)

Great resolutions! There are always times when you feel like giving up, but if you're passionate about it, as I'm sure you are, you just need to get a breather for some extra motivation to go back!

I agree about stepping out and meeting new bloggers, or just getting to know some we 'kinda' knew before, but not real well. I guess that's one thing I love about organizing tours, I'm getting to know a lot of bloggers and I'm feeling that sense of community more then ever. I'm seeing the bad side as well though, but luckily nothing too bad (or dramatic) has happened.
We all have bad years, hopefully 2014 is better to you!
