How fast do you read?

My Score!

ReadingSpeed

Blackplume had this as a post on her blog and I thought I'd give it a try. That score up above is my score! I'm very well aware that I'm not a fast reader. Well, I actually consider myself a pretty slow reader. Whenever I try to read something quickly or if I start skimming, I do not absorb anything that I've read. So I'm actually very happy with this score! Give it a try and see what your score is!

What's your score?

Please come back and tell me your results!

That was interesting... According to it I read 502 words per minute which makes me faster than 101% of the national average. Haha. Wow!

Hmm, it says I scored 521. I suppose that's good though I wasn't quite sure about all the questions but went with my gut & got them right so may have been luck :)

I did it twice. The first time I was only 300 wpm which it said was 40% faster than the national average, but the second time I got 546 wpm which is 118% faster than the national average. I always thought that I was a slow reader, but I guess I'm not all that slow. What a fun test. Thanks for sharing. (I think since the second one was The Wizard of Oz it was a bit easier since I've read it before. The first time I hadn't read the passage.)

The first time I did this, a few months ago I scored around 450. Now I'm at 671!! Supposedly I could read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in less than two hours. I may have to try that sometime!

Ha! I'm REALLY slow. 306 per minute :P Not that I'm surprised.

This is awesome!!! I've always wondered how fast I could read, and depending on the content of the story it provided I was between 300 and 400. With Alice in Wonderland where the words are simpler and the content is more basic I read faster, but with another piece where there was dialogue in some accent I read slower. How weird! Great post!!

This was great. I managed 336 with Alice. Loved the test, but I'm really slow ready on the computer.

I actually posted this a while back on my blog ( http://youngatheartbookblog.blogspot.com/2012/06/how-fast-can-you-read.html)

I also consider myself an EXTREMELY slow reader. Back in July I read 348 WPM and I just detested myself and I could read 289 WPM. Guess I'm going downhill :(

Thanks for the post!

I think I'm a somewhat fast reader and I got the same as you about 25% faster than the average. But it was a weird passage. Normally once I'm into a book I can read faster. Some random passage where I don't know what the heck is going on I have to read a bit slower lol
