Fallen by Lauren Kate

Goodreads Summary: There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

My Take: After a tragic accident, Luce is forced to go to a school for troubled kids (kids involved in or around a crime). While she is miserable and has little contact with the outside world, she doesn’t know whom she should trust.

She is drawn to a boy from the first time she sees him and knows there is something between them but he immediately rejects her.

I really liked the storyline but I am a little bothered that there were very few questions answered in this book. The ending satisfied me enough for me to look forward to the next book. I would really like to see where this series will lead.

The romance concept is a lot like the book Evermore, a series that I really became to dislike. The comparison is that this book is about Angels and Lauren Kate is a way more creative writer.
